Summer Reading!

The summer reading has been going pretty well I must say. The Poisonwood Bible has to be my favorite book out of the three we have to read. For some reason I just understand and connect with it more. I am very excited to get back to class and see what others have to say about it! This is really just one of those times where you have to read books and you don't feel like you are going to like them because who wants to be forced to read a book. That's how most high school students look at this but I know that once I started to read the books I realized that the deeper meaning behind he book is actually quite great. Preston isn't having us read these book just because he is having us read these books to get our mind flowing and the thoughts to rise. Our opinions matter and that's why people write book. They want others to hear what they have to say, they want to express themselves. I love this book and I am very glad that it was on our reading list.

This is how I want to start the year!

My big question, something I've always wanted to know, is what is really going on in a teenagers mind? Why is it that we can sit here and ask them questions but can never really figure it out? Why do people want to judge on the way that other people think or the way that other people do things? Why is it that society wants to feel the need to find perfection when there is no such thing as something being perfect? "Why is a Raven like a writing desk?"
